COURTNEY ROBINSON JOINS HALT, BUZAS & POWELL, LTD. AS STAFF ACCOUNTANT II

ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 20 – CPA and management consulting firm Halt, Buzas & Powell, Ltd. (HB&P) announced today that Courtney Robinson has joined the firm as a Staff Accountant II.

Ms. Robinson is a 2007 Cum Laude graduate of Howard University in Washington, D.C. where she earned a B.B.A. in Accounting. This June she will be awarded a Graduate Certificate in Accounting – Controllership from Strayer University, also in Washington, D.C.

At HB&P Ms. Robinson will assist Partner Andrew Powell in the firm’s rapidly growing audit practice.

“Courtney has considerable accounting experience for a recent college graduate,” said Powell. “We were extremely impressed both with her academic achievements and her in-depth knowledge of federal and commercial audits.”

“But Courtney brings much more than accounting credentials to HB&P – she brings enthusiasm and dedication to the accounting profession. I’m looking forward to working with Courtney as she further develops her professional skills,” Powell added.

Prior to joining HB&P Ms. Robinson served as an Assurance Intern at KPMG LLP, an Internal Audit Intern at Sempra Energy (San Diego), and an Internal Finance Intern at PricewaterhouseCoopers. She was President of the National Association of Black Accountants, Howard University chapter in 2006-2007 and the chapter’s Tutorial/Elections Chair in 2005-2006. She is presently studying for the Uniformed Certified Public Accountant examination.
